Hot Rolled (HR)/Mild Steel (MS) Plates
Hot Rolled Pickled and Oiled Coil/Sheet is composed of the same material as the Hot Roll Sheet above, but it goes through an additional process of pickling and oiling before it is uncoiled, flattened, and sheared to specific lengths.
Applications of Hot Rolled (HR)/Mild Steel (MS) Plates
1. A scaled surface—a remnant of cooling from extreme temperatures
2. Slightly rounded edges and corners for bar and plate products (due to shrinkage and less precise finishing)
3. Slight distortions, where cooling may result in slightly trapezoidal forms, as opposed to perfectly squared angles.
FEATURES
In terms of physical characteristics, cold-rolled materials are typically harder and stronger than standard hot-rolled counterparts. As the material is deformed at a lower temperature, the steel's hardness and resistance against deformation get increase due to work hardening.
A smooth & bright surface finish can be obtained due to fewer chances of surface oxidation.
The cold rolling is generally done using a 20-Hi-Sendzimier cold rolling mill. This type of rolling mill offers the advantages of great rigidity, bearing the rolling force uniformly along the entire width of the rolling mill through the backing bearing, and therefore the longitudinal and lateral dimensional accuracy of the sheet/ strip is high.
The CR Annealing & Pickling line is on environment-friendly LPG fuel with better temperature control, associated with Electrolytic and Acid Pickling with very high control on the pickling process.
